Famous Ex-Pupils
- Bob Hoskins, (Robert William Hoskins) Born October 26th
1942,
Actor, Director, Writer. |
 |
Lived at 46 Upper Tollington Park from the age of 3, and was
educated at Stroud Green School. He left school at age 15, and
traveled the Middle East.
.
Apparently on getting his first role in the The Feather Pluckers,
1968 he was quoted as saying "I was three parts pissed. We
were going to a party. And this bloke comes around and says: 'Right.
You're next. Have you seen the script?'...And I got the leading
part."
.
Bob Hoskins was Brian De Palma's second
choice to play Al Capone in The Untouchables if Robert De
Niro was unavailable. The director reportedly sent a six-figure check to Hoskins for "being a great standby" |
